The GOJHL’s Golden Horseshoe Conference Championship will come down to a deciding Game 7.
The Caledonia Corvairs silenced over 2200 fans in Fort Erie, a franchise record, with a 1-0 win over the Meteors to extend the series.
Markus Dempewolf’s 10th of the playoffs came at 8:07 of the third period, while goaltender Keegan Jackson made 28 saves for the shutout for the Corvairs.
In a losing effort, Charlie Burns made 26 saves.
Game 7 between the two sides goes tonight at 7:30pm in Caledonia, with the winner joining the Listowel Cyclones and St. Mary’s Lincolns in the Sutherland Cup to crown the GOJHL championship.
For the Meteors, it would be their first appearance in the Sutherland Cup, while the Corvairs would be making their 5th appearance.
