Beth and Tom Rankin are hosting their annual Open House at their Standardbred breeding farm on Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event, now in its third year, features a behind-the-scenes look at their horses, including 10 broodmares and their new foals. Guests can enjoy watching the foals play, take photos, and learn about the Standardbred breed. The Rankins also sponsor two youth contests through the Bill Galvin Racing Alliance: the Youth Literary Derby (Grades 3-8) and the Youth Art Derby (Grades 3-12). The event will also include a "Name the Foal" contest with a $100 cash prize for the chosen name. The Rankins have been breeding Standardbreds since 1990, and over 500 visitors attended in previous years. To attend, registration is required by May 28. For more details on the contests and event registration, visit the Bill Galvin Racing Alliance website or call Rankin Construction.
