Niagara Region Public Health is alerting residents that the first case of West Nile Virus in mosquitoes for 2024 has been confirmed in the Niagara region.
The mosquitoes that tested positive were found in St. Catharines.
As of now, there have been no human cases of WNV identified in Niagara in 2024.
