Environment Canada says there are extreme cold or winter storm warnings active right across the country, with the most extreme cold warnings stretching from northern Alberta to Nova Scotia. Regions of B.C. are expecting significant snowfall, with Peace River set to receive up to 50 centimetres by Saturday morning. Areas of Northeastern Ontario are reporting wind chill values of close to -45 this morning. In Eastern Canada, residents of Halifax are bracing for an arctic airmass today which will bring windchill values of -35 to -42 Celsius. Niagara will see wind chill values of near -25 today. Things will slowly improve across the Region on Saturday to a high of -3 and a windchill of -10 by late afternoon.
