The City of St. Catharines and the Friends of Malcolmson Eco-Park are planning a controlled burn at the park sometime between today and May 4.
The burn, lasting four to six hours, will help native grasses thrive and reduce invasive species.
Nearby residents will be notified in advance, and the park will be closed for the duration of the burn.
People with smoke sensitivities should take precautions.
The exact date will be announced on the City’s website and social media once it’s been decided on.
