A stretch of Glenridge Avenue by Brock University is closed this morning.
Niagara Regional Police are on scene investigating a serious collision, and as a result have closed Glenridge between Glendale Avenue and John Macdonnel Street.
Just after 1:00am, police say a Pontiac Vibe was travelling north on Glenridge when it lost control and collided with a southbound snowplow. The driver of the Vibe, a 19-year-old St. Catharines resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives assigned to the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit have assumed carriage of the investigation. They are being supported by detectives from the NRPS Forensic Services Unit.
The road is expected to be closed for at least another three hours.
