Wind-related pauses could lead to delays at Welland Canal bridges this week

For those who may cross bridges during their regular commute – there may be some delays this week.

The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation says because of wind-related pauses in recent days, a backlog of vessels waiting to go through the Welland Canal may result in bridges going up more often over the next few days.

Also, the Lakeshore Road Bridge in St. Catharines will be closed today from 8:00am to 5:00pm for maintenance, while the Clarence Street Bridge in Port Colborne will be closed on Thursday from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
