Brock University is leading a $7.4-million initiative, supported by $2-million from the Ontario Research Fund, to boost Ontario’s grape and wine industry.
The project, VINO Solutions, focuses on resilience, innovation, and economic leadership in the face of climate change, pests, and plant viruses.
Key outcomes will include virus-free grapevines, pest control products, yeast innovations for fermentation, and knowledge-sharing programs.
The collaboration involves Brock, Niagara College, the University of Guelph, and industry partners.
