Ontario has officially expanded its alcohol beverage marketplace, allowing all licensed grocery and big-box stores to sell beer, wine, cider, and ready-to-drink beverages, including larger pack sizes.
Premier Doug Ford emphasized that this move fulfills the government’s commitment to enhance choice and convenience for consumers.
The phased rollout began in July 2024 and finished on Halloween, with all eligible stores now able to participate.
This expansion not only supports retailers and local producers but also modernizes the shopping experience for Ontarians.
To help consumers locate local retailers, the province has introduced an interactive map featuring over 1,000 Ontario breweries and wineries. The government is dedicated to collaborating with industry partners to ensure a smooth transition to this new marketplace.
