US investigators have announced the arrests of two individuals in connection with the April 2024 murder of Niagara Falls resident Randy Fader.
Fader, 29, was fatally shot and died shortly after being transported to the hospital.
The FBI, in collaboration with Niagara Regional Police and other agencies, revealed the charges are tied to a larger drug trafficking operation.
Two suspects, Andrew Clark and Malik Cunningham, are in custody, while a warrant remains for Ryan James Wedding, who is still at large. The FBI is offering $50,000 in rewards for information leading to his arrest and extradition. Wedding, who is originally from Thunder Bay, competed for Canada in 2002 in the men’s parallel giant slalom event.
He’s been charged in the state with running a criminal enterprise, murder, conspiracy to distribute cocaine and other crimes. Officials say his group moved large shipments of Cocaine from Columbia, through Mexico and California to Canada using semi-trucks. He was previously convicted in the US of conspiracy to distribute to cocaine and he was sentenced to prison in 2010.
FBI special agent Krysti Hawkins says a dozen others were arrested in Florida, Michigan, Columbia and Mexico in connection with the case. Authorities said they seized cocaine, weapons, ammunition, cash and more than $3-million in cryptocurrency in connection with the investigation.
