In August, Niagara Regional Police detectives seized pills resembling the opioid Percocet.
Health Canada has since tested the pills and confirmed they are counterfeit, containing Benzimidazole, a synthetic opioid far more potent than Fentanyl.
This drug has no medical use and is not prescribed for humans.
Authorities are urging extreme caution for anyone in illegal possession of these pills.
