In December 2021, Walker Aggregates Inc. submitted an application to the City of Niagara Falls for an Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment to permit a quarry on lands between Thorold Townline Road and Beechwood Road.
On August 14, 2024, the City received an appeal from Walker Aggregates due to non-decision within the required timeframe, sending the matter to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
As a result, the City will not make a decision on the application, and the OLT will handle the case.
The City is now preparing the necessary documents for the tribunal, including public comments and participant information.
