Welland City Council has approved a lease with Niagara Regional Housing to establish a temporary emergency shelter at 851 Ontario Road.
This 50-room facility will be staffed 24/7 by trained professionals, ensuring a safe environment for those in need.
The site was selected after a thorough review and meets all criteria for quick construction and operation.
The shelter, built with modular units, will help transition individuals from encampments to proper housing.
