Today is the first day of Canal Days!
Port Colborne Mayor Bill Steele says it’s an exciting time, and also a reminder of how great the City is.
Musical performances this weekend include Tom Cochrane tonight, and Billy Talent tomorrow, both at HH Knoll Lakeview Park.
Steele says it’s important to give visitors a good mixture of music throughout the weekend.
Canal Days has been enticing visitors since the 70s to Port Colborne to participate in the celebration of marine heritage. Through a wide range of events and activities over 60,000 people now sail into Port Colborne during the Civic Long weekend.
The city has also set up a number of shuttle bus options for anyone that doesn’t want to look for parking in the middle of Canal Days.
Shuttles will run from the Vale Health & Wellness Centre parking lot (550 Elizabeth Street) or the West Side Plaza Parking Lot (53 West Side Road) to the heart of the action, with multiple stops along the way.
Shuttles buses accommodate wheelchairs and small scooters. Shuttles run approximately every 30 minutes (subject to change without notice).
