The speed limit is going up on Highway 406 at the end of this week.
As of Friday, the limit will increase to 110km/h on a 13km stretch of the 406 between Thorold and Welland.
In 2019, the speed limit was increased to 110 km/h on the QEW between Hamilton and St. Catharines as well. Also seeing speed increases across Ontario on Friday is stretches of Highways 401 and 403, as well as Highway 69 in Sudbury.
A statement from the province says all highway stretches selected were based on their ability to accommodate higher speeds safely.
