In April 2024, the Niagara Regional Police Child Exploitation Unit teamed up with the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Unit to investigate a suspect in Port Colborne.
On June 10th, detectives executed a search warrant at a private residence in Port Colborne, confiscating numerous electronic devices.
Marc Oliver Marier, 33, was subsequently arrested and charged with luring a child via telecommunication to facilitate sexual assault, possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and making child pornography available.
