Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Niagara region.
Officials say conditions in the region are favourable for storms that could produce strong winds, up to 90 km/h gusts, as well as toonie-sized hail.
Large hail can cause damage to property, or even injuries, while heavy winds can toss loose objects. You’re reminded to always secure anything you can before a storm with high winds.
Environment Canada officials add that water-related activities could also be unsafe because of sudden gusts of wind over bodies of water.
