In 16 seasons of Niagara IceDogs hockey, the organization is continuing to celebrate first-time occasions during games.
That trend continues tomorrow night when the IceDogs host the Kingston Frontenacs, as the same has been dubbed ‘Girls Night Out’. Manager of Corporate Sponsorships Cori Burke says this idea came to them at OHL meetings.
Burke says it’s important to encourage women to pursue a career in sports, whether it’s playing or on the organizational side of things.
Burke adds that Gillian’s Place women’s shelter will also be set up in the concourse, while $1 from each ‘Dogmopolitan’ cocktail sold during the game will be donated to the shelter.
