While we haven’t seen much of snow plows yet this winter, they will be hitting the road as soon as the snow does, as early as this weekend.
Welland Public Works Manager James Sticca says you should always be careful when driving near a plow.
This weekend, Environment Canada is calling for 2cm on Friday night, 2cm on Saturday, and potential snow squalls on Sunday. Sticca says they’ve got a plan every time it snows.
Sticca adds that they typically aim to have the whole city done within a day.
Additionally, under new Ontario laws, drivers cannot pass snow plows working in ‘echelon’ formation on multi-lane roads/highways with a speed limit over 80km/hr. This can result in a $325 fine.
