There are four new locations for automated speed-enforcement cameras in the Niagara Region.
The new locations are at Central Avenue in Fort Erie, Niagara Stone Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Victoria Avenue in Lincoln, and Main Street in Grimsby. All four of the new locations are in Community Safety Zones, near schools.
The region says automated speed enforcement is an effective strategy to:
- Improve safety on Regional roads
- Reduce vehicular speeds
- Encourage compliance with speed limits
- Reduce collisions resulting in fatalities and severe injuries
- Support walkable and safe communities
The cameras will remain in these new locations until April.
