Christina Colasurdo has been involved with Julia’s Journey for the past 12 years in memory of her daughter Julia who passed away from Leukemia.
Through Julia’s Journey, she has been raising funds for families who also have children that are battling children’s cancer.
Families face a financial strain and the goal is to provide them with some relief during a difficult time.
The next fundraiser is in support of Malayna Zaporozen, a 16-year-old girl, fighting against Leukemia.
She frequently travels to McMaster Children’s Hospital, and the goal is to raise funds to support her family through Ronald McDonald house Hamilton.
It’s a charity that is near and dear Christina’s heart. As Christina’s family was bringing their daughter Julia for treatment, the Ronald McDonald house became their home for a summer.
Christina says people don’t realize just the amount of help Ronald McDonald house provides, until they need to use their resources.
The upcoming event is the 2023 Golf Tournament, which is dedicated to Julia’s memory and raising funds for families struggling with cancer. It will be July 22nd at the Beechwood Golf and Social house in Thorold.
