The Welland Jackfish continue to put on a show for their fans as the regular season winds down.
The Jackfish defeated the Brantford Red Sox 15-8 last night at Welland Stadium, in front of a sold out crowd.
Jake Sanford went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI for the Jackfish, while Ryan Potrecz drilled a pinch hit, two-run homer and Tyler Dupuis drove in four runs on two hits.
Welland starting pitcher Ben Abram benefitted from the offensive attack. He picked up the his league-leading 10th win after allowing a run on four hits over five innings. Abram walked two and struck out three.
With the win, the Jackfish improve to 31-10 on the season – having already clinched first place in the Intercounty Baseball League. Their first postseason game will be next Thursday, August 22nd at Welland Stadium.
Tickets go on sale today (Friday) at 9:00am. Additionally, 2025 FINatic Club Season Memberships are on sale now, and by purchasing or renewing before tomorrow (Saturday) at noon, you’ll get tickets to the first two rounds of the playoffs in Welland for free.
