A Niagara Falls resident will be taking part in a unique competition later this month – competitive inspirational speaking.
Calissa Ngozi is a Mental Health Specialist, and has been selected to take part in Speaker Slam at the end of January.
She says speaking a lot is something she’s done since she was a kid.
Today, Ngozi regularly participates in conferences and serves on influential boards, such as the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care, and is also a respected professor at Mohawk College.
Through working in the mental health field, she says speaking just came naturally to her as a way to help others.
Ngozi says knowing her messages connect with strangers is a special feeling to her.
Since she started inspirational speaking, she says she’s spoken to thousands of people at numerous events.
The competition will be held in Toronto at the Lula Lounge on January 30th. The 10 speakers taking part are competing for a prize package valued at over $10,000 and a chance to move on to the 2024 Grand Slam – The Inspirational Speaking Finals in November.
